Technological World , Pest free groups / Predator free

WALT :Technological world 

This morning we had someone to come in and talk to us about pest free groups her name was Miss Treena. We got to learn about some of the animals that kill native New Zealand animals and other peoples opinions on how they feel about being pest free.

Some groups of people in New Zealand want New Zealand to be pest free by 2050, just to make sure that some of our native animals get to live past that year. But other people think that they are fine New Zealand and that we should treat animals that are called " Pests " with more respect.  We got the chance to write down our opinion on how we feel weather we should treat pests with more respect or get rid of them.


I slightly agree / disagree with " we should treat more animals called " pests " with more respect " . I agree because I think that all animals should be treated with respect because animals deserve just as much respect as humans have and that they should be treated the same way you would treat any  other person or pet. I disagree because although I think that all animals should be treated with respect, if they are killing or attacking native animals I think that it would be wrong. I think that it would be wrong to respect animals that are killing native animals because it is like discipline when they do something wrong the should take the consequences ( not being respected ) and when they are doing something good they get treated with respect.  I think that they should stop killing native animals because if they keep killing them they might go extinct people will never see them again and people in the future might never see them again.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today all of the manaiakalani schools in Auckland went to the Sylvia park hoyts  to watch some films that other schools had made ( including our own ) . My syndicate kia manawanui peered up with different younger classes down stairs, me and room 9 peered up with room 4 and room 10 peered up with room 5.  My buddy's name was Geromey and he is from room 4. After we buddies up with our buddies we went out to morning tea before we got onto the bus and went to Sylvia park.

When we got to the cinema and into our theatre it was a while before we finally started to watch the movies that schools had made.  When the movies did start everyone went quiet even the people who's it was first time going to the film festival, everyone went quiet.  Everyone was so quiet that the movies that were louder than they actually were.  Me and my buddies favourite movie that we watched was the movie from t.p.s room 1. We both liked this video because it involved the whole class and it looked like all the kids in the class where having fun and doing what they needed to be doing.  After we watched all the movies we got back on the bus back to school just in time for lunch.

Te Tuhi Lessons

Lesson Two
WALA : Art that seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours & textures

We are learning about this because next week we are going to the art gallery in  Pakuranga Called Te Tuhi. Our syndicate Likes to go to the art gallery a lot because everytime that we go to the art gallery we always walk out ot it happy and with something new that we learnt. Everytime That we go to the art gallery everyone comes out of it knowing something aboutartand something about  some of the pieces of art that we saw in the gallery.

Something that I learnt about abstract art is that it is not always the same colour over and over again, or the same shapes everytime that you see a piece of abstract art there are different shapes and colours. We looked at apiece of abstract art yesterday and everyone thought that it was something different, some people said that they saw the ocean and most people said that they saw breakfast, a bowl and a milk bottle.To me abstract art is something different, that gives people different view of point. Because some people see different things when they get to see abstract art and everytime the artist uses different colors and shapes to make it standout. Some of the technology that people use to make abstract art are paper, pencils, vivid, rulers.  These are all different types of technology that we use everyday with some people not even knowing it.

WALA : The technology that people use to make abstract art

What types of technology do people use to make abstract art ? There are different types of technology that people use to make different types of abstract art. Some people choose to do it digitally and other people choose to hand make it ( on paper ). The people that choose to do it digitally can use there laptops or phones, because on each of these two pieces of technology they have different apps that can help them to do art. And people that choose to do it by hand usually use pens, pencils, paper, vivid, paint and paint brushes. Each of these things help them to plan out what they want and get a rough draft of what they want to make.

Something that I am looking forward to doing / learning at Te Tuhi art gallery is getting to walk around and see all the new pieces of art that had been made just recently. I want walk around and look at all heart because each time that we go there, there is always a different piece of art that was not there the last time that we went, and each time there are different meanings to the art that we get to see.

I think that technology has changed over the years because some of the technology that people had a hundred years ago were way to big and since then things have gone smaller so that they are easy to take around with you. I also think that technology has changed so that they can upgrade because everytime that a piece of technology has been upgraded there is always something better that hasanusefull purpose.

My first blog reflection for Term 4 2018

In the holidays I didn't do much interesting  things except for playing fortnite and going to a friends house.  My favorite thing that I did in the holidays was goto my friend Aumau's house, well I was there I got to meet the rest of his family and relax at his house. Things we did at his house, we played basketball, soccer, went to the park, tried to go to the pools but we weren't allowed in because we didn't have an ID. We played basketball with some of his family member his cousin and his older brother with some of his friends. I watched Him , his little brother and cousin play soccer, and all went to  the park a couple of times but were to scared because we saw people that we didn't know there. Me and him tried to goto the pools we got all the way there and we were not allowed in because we didn't have an ID to show how old we were.

If I would've done anything that I wanted to do in the holiday it would have been to goto the movies and to goto a waterpark. I would have wanted to do this because on some of the days it was  hot and other days I just wanted to watch a movie on a big screen.  I wanted to go to a water park because at my house it was really hot and I just wanted to spend time with my family. A water park that I really wanted to go to was parakai because I like to go on the slides and go in the big pools and jump into the pool.  I wanted to go to the movies to go and watch Kevin Harts new movie night school, I wanted to watch this movie because on trailers that they have made for the movie it looks like a really funny movie.

Something that I am looking forward to this term is Graduation and Dine and Dance. I am looking forward to Graduation because I want to see what Kinds of things I will get at the end of the year and to see what my peers and other people in the class room get. I am looking forward to Dine and Dance because when I went last year it was one of the best times in my life with my friends and classmates.

Something that I want to improve on during this term is my decimals in maths because I am not confident in decimals when wedo them in maths and I know that they can help me in the future.

This is my pepeha this is what I would say to introduce my self where ever I go or when I go onto a marae. My tribe is Nga Puhi, My river is the tamaki river, My mountain is mount wellington and I now live in pakuranga. About me

Today we have made our last transaction in our technology group, for the remainder of the year me and  my group will be doing ... GRAPHICS !! To start out they day our teacher Mrs Ferguson introduced herself to the younger student that didn't go to technology. We had to make a google drawing to show and tell our graphics teacher Mrs Ferguson a little bit about yourself and to show her some of the things that we like such as our favorite games, sports and food etc. We also made avatars of ourselves, avatars of what we wanted to look like when we are older or avatars of what we want  to look like. On my google drawing of myself I had a lot of images of things that I like or of people that I look upto. For the people I look upto I put Tupac Shakur and XXXTenTacion, because in their music the both spoke the truth about how they've been feeling and because they talked about what was happening in areas that most people dont know about. For  games and sports I put Basketball and Fortnite because those are the two main things that I am doing in my free time. I put Burger King because I like to eat at burger king and I like the food that they have there, and for the things that I like was cherry blossom trees and  chocolate because they both look nice and one is very nice.

Reading task - Hemoana and Fenu

For the last two days my class has been learning about Myths from the Pacific. Each person was put into groups with a culture that they had to read a myth about. I was first in the New Zealand group but we didn't have a myth to read about so my teacher Mrs Aireen but me and the rest of the people in the New Zealand group into the Tuvaluan group. Our myth was about two different islands that were called NukuNonu Atoll and Fakaofo, in the story both of the islands had a female spirit the spirit names where Hemoana and Fenu. In the story Fenu came of to the island that Hemoana lives on and tried to steal some of the freshwater that Hemoana had with a clam shell, after Fenu scoops up some of the water Hemoana jumps out from inside of a rock and chases down Fenu until she stops when she stops Hemoana smacks the clam shell out of Fenu's hand. Thinking that smacking the water out of her hand would do nothing it makes water go everywhere and makes streams with fresh water, while Hemoana is running away she taking one of the trees on the island and replanted it back on her island.

My three tasks where to analyze, summarize what the myth was about, evaluate, what I thought about the myth and create, my create task was to make a billboard poster to show where the pandanus tree came from. For my evaluate task I talked about what I thought about the myth, something that I would change and my analyze task and what I would rate this myth on a scale from one to ten. I thought something that could've happened differently was Fenus could've asked for some of the water instead of trying to steal the water. If this was to relate to me it would be between me and one of my siblings. I think that it would be between both of us because we would want what the other has. If that happens I would swap items with my siblings so that there is no fighting and we know where our items are.
