Today we started food technology for the first time this year the very first thing that we made was chocolate, oreo milkshakes. The first step that we did was get a cup of milk and blended oreos, after we blinded the oreos we poured them into the milk. Then we put whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top of it.It was very fun doing all of this but to me I think that the best part was the part when we started to drinking them.

Te Tuhi Trip 2
Hi today we went to Te Tuhi to do some art based on our turangawaewae ( A place to stand or to call home). We drew four different things our Home,Family, Stories and culture. For home I drew a Marae because our ancestors used them for meetings or funerals,For family I did two different things and they were the diamond pattern and a kuru wai pattern.I used these two because the kuru wai represents my maori side and the diamond in the pacific represent the generations in your family. For my story I choose maui and the sun because I heard it a lot growing up and it has grown on me from a little age.And for culture I used love hearts and because I love the pacific and where I am from (New Zealand and the Cook Islands) and blobs that look like hills because to me they are some of the island's hidden under water all over the world.

Art and Turanagawaewae
We were learning about artist and turangawaewae (a place we stand)There were differant artist that were maori and some where mixed with maori. My favorite maori artist was Lisa Reihana because she does giant landscapes and they show our ancestors and maybe shows some stories of their life and how they lived.

Turanagawaewae
Hi today we were learning about turangawaewae (A place to stand) and in other words a place you feel you fit in.People have places where they feel that they fit in and that they like to go or like to be there are different places like landmarks that you like. For me that place is whangarei because I get to be with family and I get to feel what its like to be in a smaller town and a smaller place.I also like it there because my family owns a farm and I get to help them on it.

Hei tama, tu tama
Hei tama, tu tama is a game that our maori ancestors used to play to get their brain thinking fast because they thought that it was cool to think fast. This is a simple game and you dont need anything to play this game the only things you need are you and another player you can either have two or three people its really up to but you can have two or three people to play this game. There are four differant actions that you need to know before youplay they are Hands on hips,Both hands in the air clenched,Left hand in the air clenched and right hand on your hips and right hand in the air and left hand your hips. One player will say Hei tama, tu tama and the other play will do the same but a different action also make sure that you are standing face to face but with some space between you. After you have done these you are ready to start the game both players say hei tama, tu tama when you are play each time you are saying them you have to change your action if both of you are doing the same action its the first one to say Tu tama ra and they win that round its the first person to get ten point that wins
Dagmar Dyke
Today we were learning about different people that do art, there were four differant people that we looked at they were Dagmar Dyke,Fatu Feu'u,Jhon Pule and Ahota'ei loa toetu'u.We were doing DLO's (digital learning objects) to show which one we like the best and why we like their art I did Dagmar Dyke because I really like how she uses differant patterns in her art work and her art tells differant types of stories.I like on of her pieces of artwork because it shows a picture of a waka that tells me that she knows that her ancestors sailed from island to island to find differant places to stay.

Zones of regulation
Today we have been earning about the zones of regulation, the zones of regulation are the different types of emotions that people feel throughout the day and how they might handle those kinds of situations. For example when I am in the green zone (Happy) I am happy, energised and want to move around a lot but I know that I have to calm down and do the work I have to do.But when im in the red zone (Angry/mad) I want to hit things and want to be by my self and just do the things that I want to do and try to calm my self down .

Term 4 Week one over
Many people know that school has just started back up this week and schools dont do that many things for the first week of school. But our school did a lot of things we had a mufti day on Tuesday and just on Thursday four boys from our school went to national library for duffy because boys that hit teenage years dont like to read.Mufti on Tuesday was to fundraise money for cure kids who want to help kids get over illnesses with the money that they get they give it to scientist so that they have the right things to research how to stop it and how to not even get it I was one of the four boys that went to national library for our school we did a lot of things there like telling others why we think boys dont really like reading and listened to other boys say why they think boys dont like it.
My trip to national library for duffy
Yesterday some boys from kiamanuwanui at our school T.P.S (Tamaki primary school) went to national library to figure out why boys that are close to teen agers dont like reading. At first everyone was quite because no one knew each other but then when we started to play games with each other then things started to change.AFter that I think that everyone was alright and everyone was happy sharing their work and everyone started coming out of their shells we didn't really talk but you could see it when they presented their work. This was an awesome experience because we got to play with kids from other schools and we got to share our ideas with them and when we started building our things to make reading fun we were all having fun seeing each other's things that they built.

Mutorere game
Today we learnt hot to play an indigenous game of New Zealand called Mu Torere. It's a brain game that make you strategise and use logic to outwit your opponent. This is how you play the game you first have to have a board to play it is one big circle with eight smaller circles on the out line of it.Each player gets four objects they can be anything (that can fit in the circles and on the board) each player will move one of their objects one by one once you have blocked your opponent you have one.You can keep going and have as many games as you want to you can have tournament with all your friends.
This is what the board looks like.
I really like this game I thought that it was challenging but it was still fun. When we were doing it our whole class had a tournament we were all having fun while playing this and we were all happy to start playing and to learn how to play.I also really like this game because it challenges you to use your brain over all i give it a 10/10.

Red nose day (Cure kids)
Today TPS participated in keely kids sport day to help support cure kids.Cure kids is a place where they try help cure the sicknesses that kids can get and they try to stop kids from even getting them. That means that they try to help kids that are sick and try to help them from even ever getting them but that means that they need to research. The research then goes towards people to help their kids.A example of how they help other kids is that with the money that they get they give it to scientist to research as I said before then they try to help the kids that have it and try to let other’s know so that they don't catch it.Children's health is very important because they are the future of our world and they are the ones that will make the parents place when they pass away.If we let them die then our world has no more future and no one will be able to look after the generation after them.
So to help them fundraise we all came in mufti but most people came in red because RED nose day.We did a sports day we played three different game capture the flag, noodle hockey and ball tiggy. We played as separate class room 9 and 10 but we only had ten minutes on each game.Out of all the games I think that capture the flag was my favorite because every time I would go to get a cone out of their hoop they would aim for me and other people would go get it instead.

Your voice,Your choice
Hi today we did a slideshow about the new laws that will come in with who ever wins the election on saturday. On the slide show we had to read all the new things that would come into place when the election is over. One of the parties that I was really going for was the maori party because they want to do so much for the land the people in the land and they want to try and keep the maori culture alive. One reason why I choose the maori party was because they want to make all the river's in new zealand drink able and swimmable.

Whakatauki o te wiki
Hi today we went to go kiwi sport but no one was there so we had a quick practice then went back up to class. When we got back to class we started to do our whakatauki o te wiki which was He aha te kai o te ranagatira he korero,he korero,he korero which means what is the kai (food) of a leader.
The food of a leader is communication and knowledge because if you are a leader you need to know how to communicate with others and needs to have knowledge to lead his/her people.

DARE:Session 1 Reflection Task T3W5
Hi today we had a police officer Constable Taina come into our class to teach us about drugs and how we should act around them and the last things she taught us was how other people use them and how it affects them. She said that a drug is A drug can be defined as any chemical substance which alters the way a person’s body or mind works.
This does not include food, air and liquid, which our bodies need to work properly.
Whakatauki o te wiki
Hi today in the morning block we did two different things we did our whakatauki o te wiki and we did our kiwi sport but I will be talking about our whakatauki o te wiki .Our whakatauki o te wiki this week was He iti hoki te mokoroa nana i kakati te kahikatea witch means even though things are small they can still get through the obstacles that everyone else goes through everyday.Lots of people think that small people around them cant do the things they can they under estimate them and sometimes the small person can do better but they are to shy to show it.

Friday W4T3 reflection
Hi today at school some of the classes didn't have a lot of people because we had netball tournament were a lot of people went to.The people that stayed behind in room 10 were only about ten people so we invited room nine students to come and join us for the day in the first block I think that room ten was getting used to having room nine in our class because we had a lot of talking about random stuff going on and lots of people just hanging out with friends and that is one thing that I liked because I saw alot of people bonding with the people that they dont really talk to and helping people they dont usually help.In the morning and second block I think that room nine were finishing of their work and room ten were doing there usual maths in the morning and after morning tea we started to finish our work that we had not finished this week. One thing that me and my friends we really excited to finish of was our PB4L poster which is about how we should and when we are walking around the school and when we are in the corridor.

Algebra T3W3
Hi today for maths we have solved an algebra problem to calculate how much money would be spent and earnt by two twins.Tom started with $20 and spends $2 every day for a week and he twin sister tia started her job on the same week on monday she earns $2.50 a day.I used a table try and help me calculate the day that tia would over lap tom with money. We made links to statistics and choose a line graph to show our thinking. You can see clearly that by Friday,Tioa had made more money than tom.Well we were working on this some people got a bit stuck and thought that Tom had started with $18 on Monday and not with twenty everyone got a bit stuck because other people had other answers but when we made a graph it shows that he started with $20 on Monday and not $18 so in the end everyone had come to and answer they all agreed on.I really liked it when everyone one was trying to get the right answer people were working together and trying to help each other like our whakatauki from yesterday Ma pango,ma whero ka oti te mahi which means if people work together they will get the job done.

Whakatauki ote wiki
Hi today we have done whakatauki ote wiki which is another word for a quote or an saying that people like to say. Todays whakatauki (quote) was Ma pango,ma whero ka oti te mahi which means when people work together they will get the job done faster and if they dont it will take them more longer to do the job than it should take them.To me it is like some going upto one of the people that they dont work with and ask them for help the person helps them sometimes not even wanting a prize but they help and they get two things out of it.They are happy knowing that they have helped someone that they dont usually work with all the time. And sometimes people reward them to say thank you and sometimes the person say no thank you because they already know that they have done something good.
The one thing that stood out to me in this quote was working together because it is like a house one floor cant hold up the whole house they need the walls to help them and the walls cant work well with out the floor if they work together than they will have a strong house/home for people and they will know they are doing well.

Technology
Hi today for technology we were making mini versions of what we want our clocks to look like and what we want them to be.To try and sort our which clock we want to make we made two different types and now we are trying to decide which one we want to make the most. For me I wanted to make a eight ball or a baymax head the reason why I picked these two things is because I really like baymax and cartoons and I really like to play pool in my spare time.Another couple of reasons why I like the two ideas is because one is really wacky and cartoony and the other one represents a game that I like to play.
Something that I think That I did well today was help everyone that needed help and next week I am planing to try help and try to get my clock done to the highest standard it can be.

What you need to know if you want to be and Adventurer ?
Hi today I did some writing in my own time and I had to write things that you need to know if you want to be an adventurer.I got this idea from a story starter website and when I was writing this this was really fun especially if you are talking to someone else and writing hope you enjoy.
Make a list of things that an adventurer needs
When you grow up and you don't know what you want to be but you like to travel and explore maybe you can be an adventurer and if you are one of those people this is what you need to know.
Firstly you need not to be afraid of pretty much anything and you need to always be alert for anything wherever you go especially if you are somewhere you have never been before. You also need to be ready for anything because at any time you could be a in situation where you might lose your life or get hurt.
Another thing you need to know is that you need to be someone who likes to travel around a lot.And who sometimes does not mind walking and traveling alone by himself or by herself sometimes. One other thing you need to know is if you are going to be traveling a lot is to have fun but be safe at the same time.
So if you put these two things together you can be a one good adventurer and someone has really good reflexes and who likes to walk around alot or just a person who really likes to have fun in different places.
